A tiny little update on what is happening in the world of… well me.
As some of you will know, just over 3 years ago I moved into the flat where I am after 18 months in rehab and about 2 years living in the streets.
When I felt God was calling me to do something I wasn’t sure what it was going to be, but I obeyed and followed. I left Betel (a Christian Rehab) and moved back to High Wycombe. The day after I left Betel I was given a camera which re-ignited a dream I had to become a professional photographer (sorry that’s a different story and you can see from my other posts how that is going).
The flat was great and over the last 3 years I have been picking up things that served a purpose although nothing really matched (I didn’t start with anything and budget was very limited). With God’s help though things have changed and it is now time to make this flat a home, at least until I can afford somewhere bigger with a studio (dreams can come true).
So, now it is time to start getting rid of the old and bring in the new. It will take a few days of chaos, but that chaos is what gives us our character. We learn through trial and living through it makes us better equipped for the next step of the journey.
I really should have taken a before photo before I started moving furniture around but I think you can get an idea of how things were.
In a way it is fun creating the mess and the steamer is making great work of the old wallpaper.
The hard part is planning how I do things. Due to the space and that I do have to still manage to work, sleep and eat I am only managing to work on small areas at a time. It’s a challenge at times but it’s working. The first area I am hoping to complete is my new office area though (complete with a bespoke desk which I have enjoyed making).
However before the desk can be revealed it’s time for the cracks to be filled and the paint to go on the walls.
Well that’s enough for now… I really should be going to B&Q… I need some more supplies…
